Report: EU leaders mull more sanctions against Russia over Syria
MOSCOW, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- The draft resolution of a summit of the E.U. leaders taking place on Thursday contains a clause envisaging introduction of new sanctions against Russia, Bloomberg reported citing the draft.
The summit will continue on Friday.
According to Bloomberg, the E.U. condemns the attacks by the Syrian authorities and Russia on the civil population of Aleppo and is considering any actions including restrictions against Russian individuals and organizations if the violence does not stop.
Spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that it is too early to comment on the possible sanctions. “First, we need to see the final resolution.”
